For the second project that I did in IED was the 20 rectangles design challenge. The problem was constructed made up as exactly 20 rectangles.
The constraints
The object must fit in 8"x 8"x 8" box
The object must be constructed of all rectangles and there must be 20 no more or less and no cutting into the object
The object must incorporate one other color and must be colored by spray paint
The ideas I came up with for this project was a helicopter, and or a world war 1 tank, or a world war 1 biplane. The two that it came down to was the helicopter or a world war 1 biplane. And the idea I went with was the world war 1 biplane. The thing that was hard about this project was the object was all made out of rectangles or squares. That squares are rectangle and rectangles are not squares. And for the voting part had 4 votes and I came in 8th place out of 14. The major take-a-ways from the project never cut the cardboard that we were supplied with a box cutter. The other is be patient with the glue with so thick cardboard.
